More about the phenomenal output of Mary Caine…..

Another quick blog update intended as part of my general internet send off to the now late Mary Caine, perhaps one of the most original writers and artists that Kingston has ever produced and the discoverer, or quite possibly, the re-discoverer of Kingston’s now legendary Zodiac. Amongst Mary’s many equally legendary collaborators over the years was the late Tony Roberts, self appointed Guardian of Glastonbury Tor and another equally original creative artist in his own right: his hilarious saying that living down in Glastonbury was like ‘living among a pack of Tarot Cards’ has since been cycled and re-cycled by a whole host of considerably less original individuals too numerous to list here. But, plagiarism apart, here is another short extract from another of my Kingston Zodiac related digital films in which the relationship between Tony and Mary’s work is examined in full: with particular reference to Tony’s now rare and highly collectable book on giants in myth and history, ‘Sowers of Thunder’, for which Mary provided the illustrations….some of which can be seen here and in the embedded video……
